Calibration & Precision Instrumentation Department
The Calibration Department at CHMESR conducts all metrological calibration protocols for the continuous analyzers across Egypt's National Ambient Air Quality Network in technical partnership with the National Institute for Standards (NIS). The facility features integrated multi-gas dynamic calibrators, zero air generators, and flow standard calibrators conforming strictly to ISO/IEC 17025.
Strategic Vision of the Calibration Laboratory:
To serve as the primary national reference metrological hub delivering precision traceable calibration services with unmatched speed and guaranteed international traceability chains.
Core Responsibilities:
- Designing, scheduling, and executing routine dynamic multi-point calibration programs across national monitoring stations.
- Inspecting, testing, and calibrating air quality and emission instruments for industrial corporations and issuing certified calibration certificates.
- Maintaining calibration routines for all testing laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025 metrological standards.
- Evaluating and verifying gas standards and dynamic dilution calibrators against primary reference standards.
Specialized Calibration Units:
- Real-time continuous gas analyzer calibration unit (CO, SO2, NOx, O3, H2S).
- Certified reference gas cylinder verification unit (Span & Zero calibration gases).
- Particulate monitor flow rate and sensor calibration unit (PM10 / PM2.5 flow standards).
